OKLAHOMA CITY – The Buffalo Public Works Authority (Authority) received approval for a $12,962 loan with 100% principal forgiveness on Tuesday from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the Authority’s water infrastructure. Construction of upgrades and improvements to the water system will be financed by the Oklahoma Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF).
The Authority operates a municipal water system and will use the funding to install a 38-kilowatt propane standby generator at the North Well. This backup power source will ensure the well remains fully operational during electrical outages, allowing the community to maintain access to safe, reliable water at all times.
Lori Johnson, chief of the OWRB’s Financial Assistance Division, calculated that the Authority’s customers will
save an estimated $38,700 when compared to traditional financing.
