The Weleetka Public Works Authority Receives $10,000 Grant for System Improvements from the OWRB

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Weleetka Public Works Authority (Authority) received approval for $10,000 in funding on Tuesday from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB) to improve the Authority’s wastewater infrastructure.  Construction of upgrades and improvements to the wastewater system will be financed by the OWRB American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant program.

The Authority operates a sanitary sewer system. As part of their ongoing reliability improvement efforts, the Authority has completed the installation of a new manhole.
The approved funding will be used to reimburse the Authority for the installation and materials associated with the new manhole. The project cost was $10,000.00, which will be reimbursed from an OWRB ARPA Grant in the amount of $10,000.00.

Lori Johnson, chief of the OWRB’s Financial Assistance Division, calculated that the Authority’s customers will save an estimated $20,700.00 compared to traditional financing.
